Frequently asked questions

Know before the appointment

Call with a question
What should I have ready for the appointment?

Have the complete document, all signers, and a current identification document that is acceptable under California law. Do not sign in advance when the signature must be witnessed. Call before the appointment if you are unsure about identification or witnesses.

Can you come to a hospital or senior-care community?

Yes. Please confirm the facility's visitor rules, room or unit, the signer's availability, and whether witnesses are required. The signer must be able to communicate willingness to sign and complete the notarization without pressure from others.

Do you provide witnesses?

Witness requirements come from the document or the receiving organization. Please arrange qualified witnesses in advance unless witness availability has been specifically confirmed with Traveling Notary Services.

How are fees determined?

Your quote is based on the requested notarial acts, travel location, appointment timing, parking or facility access, and any agreed additional services. The total is confirmed before the appointment whenever the details are known.

Can you tell me which certificate or document I need?

A California notary cannot select a notarial act, prepare legal documents, or give legal advice. Please ask the document's receiving agency or a licensed attorney what is required before the appointment.

Are same-day appointments available?

Same-day and after-hours appointments may be available depending on location and schedule. Call for the fastest response.
